The initial charge in a Shoubu.

Tachiai occurs after Shikiri. Both Rikishi should enter Aun Breath at which point the Tachiai takes place.

This is described in two Sumou Sayings:

1. Aun no kokyuu de tatsu 2. Tachiai ha aun no kokyuu ga risou

The Ideal of Tachiai is the Ice-cube Tachiai principle.
